Cycle time calculation

For the graphical representation of the cycle time

The determination of the cycle time calculation is part of the process parameters.

Via the drop-down selection, four different options for determining the cycle time are provided.

In general, the following applies:

$$t_{cycle}=t_{plasticizing}+t_{downtime}$$

The downtime therefore also includes, among others, the injection time and the holding pressure time. Thus, the following condition must hold:

$$t_{downtime} \geq t_{injection} + t_{holding}$$

Screw speed is calculated, times are specified

In this mode, the three fields must be defined:

Any two values can be entered; the third is calculated automatically. From the shot volume (mandatory input) and the plasticizing time, the mass throughput is determined. The screw speed required to achieve this throughput is then calculated by PSI.

In this mode, the two fields must be defined:

From the throughput and the shot volume (mandatory input), the plasticizing time is derived, and therefore also the cycle time. The screw speed required to achieve the specified mass throughput is calculated by PSI.

In this mode, the two fields must be defined:

Based on the screw speed, the mass throughput is calculated (this can also be entered directly as an option). From the mass throughput and the shot volume (mandatory input), the plasticizing time is determined, and thus the downtime is also known.
