The Maillefer section is a special case of a barrier section. By contrast to barrier sections which are made up of at least three sections, only a single pitch is possible within the entire element.

All geometry parameters affect the width of the solid channel at the start respectively the end and the width of the melt channel at the end of the Maillefer section. These cannot be edited. The width of the melt channel at the start of the Maillefer section b_s_MO has to be entered.

What's more, at 1 is shown the design of the screw channel. The zones are separated by the vertical black lines. Illustrated from left to right one can see the previous section of the barrier section. Following the Maillefer section. The main flight is shown blue, the barrier flight is red. Finally, the illustration presents the following zone of the barrier section.

The current section is bordered in black. In this case it is the inflow section. By sliding the cursor over the illustration, the type of each section appears in a bubblehelp.
