If values for the characteristic curve field calculation were specified in optional process parameters, the throughput is calculated for the 9 specified operating points.

The characteristic curve field can be displayed via ‘Graphic > Characteristic field’.

Three curves are displayed for the different speeds. The back pressure is shown on the x-axis and the flow rate on the y-axis.

The dependence of the flow rate on the speed and back pressure can be recognised from the set of curves. In this way, the characteristic curve can be used to quickly find an operating point with a specified flow rate or back pressure.
