The material parameters are entered via several masks, which are divided into different thematic tabs.

The first input screen with the name General is used to enter basic, general information about the plastic material. This data is required to clearly identify the material and to reference it correctly in further processing. The following information is entered in this screen:

• Material name: The user enters the name of the plastic material here, e.g. Polyethylene ABC-6H or Polyamide 6 5368M, to clearly identify the material.
• Material type: Here, the material type (e.g., PP, PE, PA6, PET) can be entered.
• Manufacturer: The name of the company that produced the plastic material.
• Batch number: A unique identification number that characterises each production batch of the material. The batch number is used for the precise traceability of material batches, especially for quality assurance processes or complaints.
• Editor: The name or identifier of the person who created or edited the data record. This is useful for tracking changes or additions to the data record.
• Date: The recording date of the material data set. This date helps to temporally classify material batches and manage the data set.
• Comment: Here, notes or special remarks regarding the material or its processing can be entered, such as drying prior to material characterization or specific properties or limitations during processing.

Further tabs and specialised input screens

After entering the general data, the user has access to further input masks, which are organised in various thematic tabs. These tabs allow detailed and specialised input of material data that is relevant for various applications in plastics technology.
