Fiber degradation
Material data - Fiber filler
The fibre filler must be defined in order to calculate the fibre degradation in REX/PSI. To do this, the Define fibres checkbox must be selected in the Fibre filler dialogue of the material. The following entries are required:
- Fibre type: Designation of the fibre
- Initial fibre length
- Fibre diameter
- Fibre weight percentage
- Fibre density
- modulus of elasticity
- Elongation at break
By selecting the checkbox E-glass (standard fibre material), the fields Fibre type, Fibre density, Young's modulus and Elongation at break are automatically filled with default values.
The initial fibre length is only used for the Fiber degradation model, but not for the Fibre length distribution model.
The initial fibre length for the fibre length distribution model is defined in a separate dialogue. This can be done using a normal distribution, a value list or a predefined length.
The solid density of the matrix material must also be specified.
